It’s a fact most first-time home buyers make mistakes that are not only easily avoided, they are also sadly costly. I bought my first property when I was 21 years old and quite frankly, I didn’t know what I was doing, and I didn’t really have someone “holding my hand” in the process that would have saved me a lot of frustration, time, and money.

One smart thing I did relatively early was obtain a real estate broker’s license. Not everyone is interested in about a month of schooling to get an agent’s license and then move on to the broker level, but you really don’t have to. If you pair with the right agent who knows what they’re doing and cares enough to share the knowledge with you as you work your way through the labyrinth known as the real estate market, you’ll be very glad you did.

I shot a quick video to express my thoughts and provide key tips on what to look out for, as well as what to look to get when you buy a house, condo, apartment, or even in many cases, commercial properties too.

Let me know what you think, and if you’ve run across any of the tricks some home sellers employ to raise the amount of the selling price.
