GALVESTON, Texas, Jan. 04, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — American National Insurance Company (American National) is pleased to introduce a new indexed strategy for new Signature Indexed Universal Life (IUL) policies. These life insurance policies provide a combination of death benefit and accumulation value to provide protection and growth potential.
American National announces a new Uncapped Strategy with Interest Rate Spread on its Signature IUL policy, available [January 1, 2016]. This innovative life product provides death benefit protection and four indexed crediting strategies along with a fixed account for clients to choose from.
Signature IUL can provide the opportunity to earn interest based upon the performance of the S&P 500® Index without the client being directly invested in the Index. Therefore, the accumulation value will never decrease based on the fluctuations of the S&P 500® Index as all four of the indexed interest crediting strategies have a built-in floor.* The S&P 500® Index is widely regarded as a standard for measuring equity performance.
Signature IUL’s new Point-to-Point Uncapped Strategy with Interest Rate Spread compares the value of the S&P 500® Index at the beginning of the one-year segment term to the value at the end of the one-year segment term and measures the percentage of increase or decrease. With this strategy, an interest rate spread is deducted from the interest earnings in exchange for the benefit of not having a cap on potential interest. This is a strategy that may work well in a rapidly increasing market.
David A. Behrens, Executive Vice President of American National said, “American National’s new Uncapped Strategy with Interest Rate Spread available in the Signature IUL provides our customers the choices and flexibility they desire along with the potential to build value rapidly in a rapidly increasing market. Signature IUL allows a client to have control over the placement of their premium in the four indexed crediting strategies and fixed account while protecting their family’s future with life insurance.”
