ATLANTA, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Loyal Order of the 704, the premier social club and community organization for veteran cable television engineers and technicians, is pleased to announce its 2026 Annual Meeting and Induction Celebration. The event will take place in conjunction with SCTE TechExpo26, on Wednesday September 30th at 7pm in Room B402, Georgia World Congress in Atlanta, Georgia.
The annual gathering honors the legacy and contributions of technical operations professionals who have spent decades building and sustaining the broadband industry. Named after the classic Jerrold 704 Field Strength Meter, the club serves as a bridge connecting industry pioneers with modern advancements. Through its annual events, the non-profit organization raises funds to sponsor educational scholarships for talented young budding engineers individually and through the Syndeo Institute.

Event Highlights:
- The 2026 Induction Ceremony: Welcoming a new cohort of industry veterans. Nominees must be actively engaged in cable system technical operations and have a strong desire to participate in the club’s lighthearted traditions, including wearing the signature Pink Flamingo cap and kissing “Pinky,” the group’s official mascot. NOMINATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED
- Annual Charity Auction: Members will gather to buy and sell rare, vintage cable memorabilia. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to a charity selected by the winning bidders, continuing the club’s tradition of giving back to the community.
- Networking & Honor Roll Recognition: Attendees will have the opportunity to reconnect with peers amidst the energy of North America’s largest broadband event. Financial supporters of the community will also be recognized on the Loyal Order of the 704 Honor Roll, hosted by the Syndeo Institute at The Cable Center.

To maintain active membership, members must be personally present at the annual SCTE meeting. Veterans interested in joining must be nominated by a current member in good standing.
