DERIDDER, La., Oct. 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AMERISAFE, Inc. (Nasdaq:AMSF), a specialty provider of high hazard workers’ compensation insurance, announced today that Teri Fontenot has been elected to the Company’s Board of Directors effective January 1, 2016.

Ms. Fontenot is currently President and CEO of Woman’s Hospital, one of the nation’s largest and most successful health systems dedicated to women’s and infants’ healthcare. Prior to joining Woman’s Hospital in 1992 as CFO, Ms. Fontenot was a CFO for hospitals in Louisiana and Florida. Over her thirty year career, she has been heavily involved in developing policy for health insurance coverage and recently served for six years on the American Hospital Association Board. Ms. Fontenot received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and holds an MBA from Northeast Louisiana University.
