LOUISVILLE, KY., May 12, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — CareSource, a leading regional nonprofit health plan, recently named Steve Swart Executive Director, Kentucky. In his role, Swart will provide strategy and leadership to the company’s Kentucky operations and team, which are based in Louisville and include more than 80 employees.
The appointment of Swart comes as CareSource continues growing its presence in the commonwealth. A nonprofit health insurance company with a 27-year history, CareSource continues to increase its individual and family health insurance products and coverage area to serve more Kentuckians. Earlier this year, CareSource tripled its coverage area for its Marketplace plan, CareSource Just4Me. It is now offered in 46 Kentucky counties. CareSource also launched a new Medicare Advantage plan in the commonwealth.
Swart has an extensive executive leadership background in health care and insurance administration. He comes to CareSource from the Robert C. Byrd Clinic at the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia, where he served as CEO/CFO.

Swart earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting and Pre-Law from Ohio University.
